A Washington, D.C. area-based, University of Wisconsin-Madison educated, Louisiana raised photographer, Jeff Schorfheide specializes in sports, news and live music photojournalism and videography with his own style of shooting that ensures he gets the shot that no one else will. He has traveled the country with a touring rock band from NYC, has been arrested and hospitalized while covering the Republican National Convention protests in Saint Paul, Minnesota and has almost lost his equipment in a structure fire he was not supposed to be shooting.
His seemingly madcap tendencies have not been for naught: he has been nationally recognized by the Associated Collegiate Press, and has won many awards including the Wisconsin News Photographers Association’s College Photographer of the Year. Previous clients include the Associated Press, POLITICO, The Wisconsin State Journal, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Complex Magazine, CASE-NAIS and Globe Pequot Press. The desire to make sense of the most chaotic and make interesting the most seemingly mundane moments constantly drives him to find new ways of covering assignments, with his end goal being the creation of art that tells stories in a way nobody else can.
